Does anyone actually know what the ‘spotters day’ consists of? I am assuming it is just additional access on families day, so less crowds etc but was curious if anyone has additional knowledge?

Re: Frisian Flag in 2020

Thanks for that.

Having done Tiger Meets, Tactical Weapons Meet etc. I thought this exercise might be a nice change for early 2020 before TM in May.

Re: Frisian Flag in 2020

Can we expect a Spotters Day at Frisian Flag 2020? Did anyone attend a spotters day before and if so how was it? I know Leeuwarden offers good spots from outside of the base, so I was weondering what it was like from the inside as well.

Thanks,

Kelvin

Cobra Warrior RAF Coningsby 12-09-18

Decided to spend the day at RAF Coningsby on Wednesday starting early at CG1, then around the perimeter to try and get the best of the movements and light. Plenty of movements and a lunchtime interval of PA474 bashing the circuit instead of venturing to Jersey due to the arrival weather. Great to ca...

Re: A few days out shooting UK Low Level in July & August

Wow, very impressive! What I'm always wondering about: how do you get sharp images while using low shutter speeds if a C-130 or A400 is heading straight at ya? It's just about selecting the shutter speed most suitable to the prop speed and aircraft type, for example 1/100th for a C130, then watchin...

A few days out shooting UK Low Level in July & August

Well August has the nett sum of one visit to the hills, so you'll have to settle for a few days out in July and that one occassion. First up was 10th July, pre-RIAT, with some international friends calling in for a flying visit: 1) https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1825/42462696415_7c7fbb9348_b.jpg Bes...

Forca Aerea Portuguesa - Evora 2018

Due to work commitments I found myself missing the Llandudno Armed Forces day and instead in the tiny city of Evora, Portugal. As I approached the outskirts of the city I was over-passed by a C130 Hercules closely followed by a quartet of F-16's in box formation close to the small municipal airfield...

A couple of days in the Mach Loop, UK.

This year has been a quiet one for me, only 2 visits before June. Managed a quick 2 hours to see the Reds transit through between my meetings, then a full day on the hill 11th June, which saw us begin on East early, change to Bluebell, then back to East for the afternoon hours. A great day seeing ma...

Re: NATO Tiger Meet Poznan 14-25 May 2018

Can anyone assist me with the protocol for scanners around air bases in Poland, in Tiger Meet etc. If banned I’ll leave it at home, if allowed does anyone have frequencies yet?

Thanks,

Kelvin
