De Kooy Den-Helder Naval Air Station is the current home base of the Dutch NH90 fleet. The development of the NH90 was a difficult process. The development of the helicopter experienced many setbacks during the project. There are now twenty helicopters delivered to the Naval Air Station at the De-Kooy in Den Helder. In this video one of the NH90 NFH helicopters is performing a training at the Slopes at the northern base. The helicopters are used for as the on board helicopter on the Dutch naval frigates. Next to that the NH90 NFH is also used in the role of Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter. The helicopters are assigned to the 860 Squadron.
