The 62nd Airlift Wing (62 AW) is a transport wing of the United States Air Force and is stationed at Joint Base Lewis – McChord in the state of Washington. It is assigned to the Eighteenth Air Force of the Air Mobility Command. The wing is composed of more than 2,200 active duty military and civilian personnel and is currently operating the Boeing C-17A Globemaster III. The unit is tasked with supporting worldwide combat and humanitarian airlift contingencies. The C-17s of the wing can be recognized by the green tail band. In this video one of the 62AW aircraft is leaving Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands.
