Spotting at Mumbai Int Airport

Hi to all
can any kind person shed any light on a good hotel to spot from in Mumbai Int Airport? as i have seen many photos of aircraft taxiing for depture,landing,which could have possibly been taken from a hotel window? if so could anyone supply the name of this hotel.and possibly any room numbers ,with the best views,

Dazman,

The hotel you want is the Orchid Hotel.
I understand that the best rooms are 527,529,531 and 533.
As the travel agency had booked the hotel for us as part of a package tour I sent an email directly to the hotel to request one of the above roomnumbers but this didn't work out.
And arriving around midnight isn't exactly a time that leaves much choice in rooms.
However, this wasn't a problem as the excellent roofterrace is accessible 24 hours a day.
BTW in the latest edition of Airnieuws is a good article about spotting in Mumbai by Ton Jochems.

If its a Hotel it would be orchid.If it was a view it has to be the Dargah at Jari-Mari Hill.

We have been at the Orchid hotel in November.
Great spotting, and good few for aircraft operations.

Only be aware if you want to go there, and use the hotel for taking pictures. For now, as long as it takes it is not allowed to take any pictures at the roof from the hotel. Staff will tell you that, and there is a sign with no photo`s. We heard from other spotters, that even the police will check, for fotographers. Telescopes, and others are no problem.
