F-104 D-8282 on the move

Post by SWAT 11 »

Hello All,

This morning at around 09:00u LT I saw a truck with F-104 D-8282 on its trailer traveling towards Highway A16 coming from the direction of the A58 from Tilburg/Gilze-Rijen. Exact location was near “Knooppunt Galder”.

The 104 was in a not his best shape…..

Best regards,
Arno Cornelissen

Wasn't that the one that was supposed to go to Spain?

The D-8282 was acquired by the Fundació Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya in 2013 and finally this week has been moved to its new home at Sabadell Airport (close to Barcelona).

Is already full assembled and clean, here a pic shooted this midday:

Thanks for posting the picture. Good to see it preserved. Are there any plans to repaint it in Spanish colors?

Hi CBR, no, we'll keep the aircraft in Dutch AF markings and colors!

Thanks for the info. I see on Google Earth that there are more MIL aircraft like RF-4C, T-33, Harvard and HA-200. Making a museum overthere?

The Fundació Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya (FPAC) owns near 60 airplanes, 20 of them aprox in airworthy conditions.

We're working to open a museum over the next few months and for the moment we open our gates to the public every month during the spring and autumn seasons at an events called "PAC Obert" (that means PAC Open in catalan).

Some of the FPAC airplanes are:
- AISA I-115 Garrapata
- AISA I-11B Vespa
- Antonov An-2R (airworthy)
- Beechcraft T-34A Mentor (airworthy)
- Bell OH-13H Sioux
- Bleriot XI (replica)
- CASA-Bücker C1.131-E2000 Jungmann (x3. airworthy)
- CASA-SIAT 223-A1 Flamingo
- Dornier Do-27 x3 (One of them airworthy)
- Douglas C-47B Skytrain
- Hispano Aviación HA-200 Saeta / HA-220 Super Saeta x5 (a HA-220 airworthy)
- Lockheed T-33A
- Macchi MB-308
- McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II
- Mignet HM-14 Pou du Ciel
- North American T-6 Texan
- North American F-86F Sabre
- Zlin Z 326 A Trener-Master (airworthy)
- Zlin Z 526 A Akrobat

And now, to the static collection is added the Fokker F-104G Starfighter.

Yeah, if there's no bang seat (funny, it had one when I saw it at Volkel 100 years ago) it doesn't really count.

But I'm sure they'll do their best to make it authentic (face overpixeled to protect identity)

Well done Conrad! Good luck with your new addition; it seems her future over there is brighter than it would have been here. Looking forward to visiting your interesting collection some time in the future :worship:
