Log Hannover-Laatzen Luftfahrt Museum 27-12-08

Post by Buccaneer S.2B »

Good afternoon,

Located in the southern suburbs of Hannover (Ulmerstraße 2 Laatzen, open Tuesday-Sunday 10.00/17.00) is this small but interesting museum. Entrance fee is €8,00. Photographing conditions are like almost any museum: not very well,
but with some effort some nice pictures can be captured. Noted the 27th of December were the follwing aircraft:

Preserved outside:
688 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21F-13
58+68 Dornier Do58D-2 Skyservant
D-CARY HFB320 Hansa Jet
The Mig-21 is pole-mounted along the main road leading to the museum, while the Skyservant & Hansajet are near the museum's entrance.
The MiG-21 is in grey VVS colours, but looking at it's serial I presume it's a fromer
NVA aircraft?

Preserved inside, first hall
This hall is dedicated to the early days of aviation. Aircaft displayed
are mainly replica's, but also some "real" stuff (especially the camouflaged Finnish Stieglitz is rare and nice !) can be watched. Displayed are:
no registration Lillienthal Normalsegelapparat (replica)
no registration Grade Eindecker (replica)
no registration Horväth III "Fecske" (replica)
no registration Fokker E III (replica)
no registration (as "B7220") Sopwith Camel F.1 (replica)
no registration (as "425/17") Fokker Dr.1 (replica)
no registration Halberstadt C L IV (replica of tailsection only)
no registration (as "N") Nieuport 17 (replica)
no registration (as "D1") Junker F13A (replica)
no registration (as "N-X-211") Ryan "Spirit of St.Louis" (replica)
no registration (as "D281") Rieseler R III 22 (replica)
D-.... Klemm KL25D (replica)
SZ30 Focke-Wulf FQ.44J Stieglitz
unknown (as "863/GL") Stampe & Vertongen SV.4VC
Any help with the SV4 & the Klemm KL25D (1989 built replica using original design drawings, and being airwothy gfopr a few years so a D-.... registration must have been allocated) is appreciated !

Preserved inside, second hall
Collection preserved in this hall starts dating from the 2nd World War.
unknown Junker Ju52 (fuselage only)
no registration Drachengleiter Windspiel 2
90+68 FWP-149D
75+02 SE3130 Alouette II
D-EJOF Tipsy T.66 Nipper
D-MXFB FFB1 Flamingo
712 (as "022/red") Mikoyan-Gurecich MiG-15bis
20+45 Lockheed F-104G Starfighter
unknown (as "170393/-+11") Focke-Wulf FW190A-8
14753 / 3 Messerschmitt Me109G-2
MV370 / EB-Q Spitfire FR.XIVc
DM-..... Schneider SG38 Schulgleiter
OE-0129 Schneider Grünau Baby IIb
HA-MHM Antonov An-2R
5418 Yakovlev Yak-18U
unknown Schwan Experimental Segelflugzeug
unknown SB-6 Nixope (wing only)
unknown Focke-Wulf Weihe 50 (tail only)
unknown Schleicher Ka8 (aileron only)
According to EMOOS2007 the FW190 is a replica, according to the museum
it's an original one ! Both the FW190 and Me109 are rebuilt along salvaged crash remains.

That''s all folks !
regards,
Rem & Co

If I remember correctly the MiG-21 is a former Hungarian one.
