Celle and Bückeburg worth a visit?

Post by ronaldairbus »

I'm in Hanover next week, wondering if Celle and Buckeburg are worth the visit?
Are there any activities? Every info is welcome.

Celle is not worth visiting, there are no helicopters based anymore, only during exercises (which are rare) some helo’s might use Celle.

Is a training base so quite some activies and also NH90’s fly every now and then. This position gives good overview of the platforms/hangars, photo opportunities and reachable by car: (52.2780444, 9.0925078).

There is also a helicopter museum in the town nearby.

Celle is a no go these days, only aircraft on TDY, I recently visited Bückeburg 4 times. Expect two to three NH90 flying, some EC135s and a lot of civil Bell 212 and EDC135 helicopters. These days elementary helicopter training is done on civil aircraft.

I would go to Wunstorf as well. Expect around 8 to 10 A400's and there is also a small museum there. Bückeburg has a helicopter museum in town by the way as well.

Bell 212 should be Bell 206

At Wunstorf expect no more than 3-5 different A.400M flying plus 8-10 on ramp, this week fewer.
