EHLW 21-03-2017 MIL

Post by Joostmil »

Today two batches of each six USAF F-15's are expected to arrive at Leeuwarden, straight from the US of A. Arrival is expected to be in the late afternoon. Times will most probably be available closer to this date.

Subject to change!

Good morning

Is there any more info about the ETA for the eagles? On Facebook it was 16:15 for the first six eagles and 30 minutes later the last six eagles.

Thanks

Info still correct, take in account +/- 1 hour for weather over the ocean

Times for the two "other" visitors:

FAF CN235 11:45-12:45lt
AFP C130 14:00-16:00lt

Mentioned callsigns for the F15's are CUBE11-16 and CUBE21-26.

With 27 knots wind direction 259 according to windfinder

https://www.windfinder.com/forecast/leeuwarden

The most probably runway for landing will be 27 in my opinion ?

Or is the runway not in use for landings

Grtz

27 is closed, because it is reserved as parking space for C17's
And the USAF F15's and C17's don't like short runways is my experience from last couple of visits

A wind correction angle of approx. 30 degrees (259 degrees wind minus 230 degrees runway) at a velocity of 27 knots results in a cross wind component of only 13,5 knots.
Easy job for an Eagle Driver! 8)

Meaning RWY23 would be most likely.
