About the possible NH-90 delay: Am I thinking wrong or do we already have one shooting roots at De Kooy? The N-088?

"Shooting roots"........ don't you just love Dutchisms? I wouldn't be surprised if it was also mentioned in the booklet: We always get our sin (too). :D

But seriously, N-088 is not at De Kooy. As far as I know she's either in southern France or somewhere in Italy for trials.

I did think about the possibility that it was an, as you call, Dutchism. But I thought I heard it before in English. Can't bring up a better term.

But I didn't know that N-088 was away again. Couldn't imagine that it would be standing at De Kooy without flying that long, but I never hear any news about the N-088. I do know that it has stood there for quite a long time

Well, I could just as well be mistaken, I am no native english speaker as well... :wink:

But, N-088 arrived at De Kooy in June 2008 for trials, the KLu Airshow and the official start of the DHC (formation flyby at Gilze).

She left for southern france in August for more trials in the Mediterranean I think. And, as far as I know she's still there.

Already old news, but 'de Vries' signed a convenant that allows for the reallocation of the SAR from Leeuwarden to de Kooy.
It is planned to take place in 2012. I don't know whether they leave their AB.412s behind and start flying the NH-90 right away. W'll see.......

According to this source: from 2012 on the NH90 will be used for medical evacuations from the "Waddeneilanden". It doesn't say if this will be out of De Kooy. Will this also be the end for the AB412s?

Looks like we are both talking about the same agreement, but another aspect of it.

Somewhen last year in "de vliegende hollander" it was stated a "project afstoting" was in the start of a setup for the Tweety (as for the Lynx), so I guess as soon as they move into EHKD, they will use the new machines. Another once mentioned possibility was the AB-412SP taking over the old Alouettes' tasks, but that appeares to be taken down.
