what atime that was, the early nineties... DDR and Poland, I'd be surprised if 10% of the planes we photographed is still flying... Flankers at Stargard, Fitters at Templin and Foxbats at Werneuchen and Kluchewo....

West of Hill AFB (117km at 250°) is an airfield laid out in the desert presumably for practice purposes.

A closer look gives 2 Mig-21's, two Mig-29's and a Tweet.

The frames seem to be painted over in sand colour, I wonder if these are decoys or the real thing (And if so, where do they come from).

Also 1 km further east are some airframes clear shot up.

An other reference point is Micheal AAF (KDPG) which bears resemblance to an other notorious airfield. The runway (old and in bad condition) has been repaired and a new 11.000 feet (!!!) runway has been added. This all very close to a dry lakebed and in a very remote area.

Dugway Proving Ground. Maybe the old moldovian MiG's 29 and ex Nellis MiG 21's. There are still a lot of un accounted. Don't look like wooden mock ups as others.
