C-12 OSACOM/ OSA-A bases

I have tried to make an overview of OSACOM (Operational Support Airlift Command) units flying the C12 version.
OSACOM might have been replaced by OSA or OSA-A. Both are used through eachother, in the Army news and facebook etc. they often use Operational Support Airlift, followed by the Detachment number. So OSA, Det.xx
Last note is based on various tracking sites including ADSB/SBS, Planefinder etc. So if you don't trust those you can stop reading this.

Hi Pieter,

I noticed on ADS-B 84-00176 operating on a CATS callsign into Osan AB, RoK about a week ago. It's recent history on ADS-B pointed to multiple flights within the Republic of Korea.

Now the question is, a recent transfer from Tennessee, or a mis-code of it's transponder?.

Chris, i,ve tried o find back your ADSB track in Korea without succes. I Played back AE03FC / 84-00176 and all flights are in Conus, and mostly in and out of Smyrna/TN. Do you use TAR1090, or something else. Perhaps you can PM with you findings, would be interesting to see what you found.
For some hex codes the various tracking sites have small errors, for AE03FC they all agree on 84-00176.
For the record i usually check planefinder, TAR1090, Radarbox and SBS, i also check if they used an Army or PAT callsign which is part of the serial, so for instance 84-00176 has been noted with callsing PAT0176 and 94-00321 ADFE4D with callsign R40321. In that case i find it 99.9% sure that the tie-up is correct.
For the A-52thAVN i have the following active during may-20:
84-00152 AE03FE, 84-00155 AE0400 and 84-00164 AE03F3

Noticed a lot of more moving around to different units and callsigns,not PAT related,mostly older aircraft,so may mean newer models coming along for instance 87-70161 which was at Montgomery with Osacom Det 5 ,has been working out of West Virginia as MYSTIC callsign during MAY 2020.

84-00176 has been noted flying with "CATS" callsign in S-Korea in the last quarter ( ADS-B ).
Might be TDY to replace C-12J 86-00082 which seems to have left the fleet, 84-00168 hasn't been seen for some time too, both belong(ed) 52nd.

Think I found out what the problem is. The 84-00174 with Cats callsign is using hexcode AE116C. I have AE116C in my records as (the missing) 84-00168....
I have been tracking the C12,s for a long time now, and there have been very few cases where a Osacom C12 was transferred to an active AVN unit or the other way around. They do switch between Osacom units after maintenance.
