Maybe they can offer them to Chile, aferall they will work great with the other ex-RNLAF F-16A/B they fly.
they have bought a lot of ex-Dutch equipment in the past (Bo105, F-16,...).

I heard Col Van der Biezen say that the final RNLAF KDC-10 (T-235) will be retired at end of 2021, not 2020!

Rumours are T-264 may be used for spares parts for T-235 :?:
The name of possible buyer Omega Air Refueling for one or both KDC-10s is also doing the rounds... :|

Will the nato kc-30 aircraft join the kdc-10 aircraft with 334sq or will there be a new squadron formed around the kc-30's?

Otherwise one squadron for one gulfsteam iv could see the end of 334sq ..

Or we will see a pegasus back on the tails of the four hercules aircraft and the end of 336sq...

Which is the most likely?

From what I understood from a press officer, is that the A330MRTT will be Nato, so not in a RNLAF squadron. Only the registation is Dutch.
(Like the Nato E3 at Geilenkirchen, that have a Luxemburg registration).

Can't read some of what has been written as it is in Dutch and I can't be bothered to Google translate it all! Here is what was told to me during the Media event at EART.

The Multi-national MRTT Unit (MMU) will ‘stand up’ 26th June this year, with the first A330-MRTT scheduled for delivery to Eindhoven 1st May 2020. The second aircraft is also scheduled for delivery to Eindhoven 15th June 2020, with the third aircraft delivered to Köln late 2020 and the fourth in 2021. Plans currently call for five aircraft to be based in Eindhoven and three in Köln. Coinciding with the delivery of the MRTT fleet (MMF), the two Dutch KDC-10s will be sold; the first (T-264) being withdrawn at the end of this year, with the second aircraft soldiering on until 2021. By 2025 it is forecast that EATC will have three times the number of tanker aircraft that it has now with the fleet formed mainly around the Airbus A330-MRTT and Airbus A400, including some of the 15 French A330s assigned to EATC for the first time.

Some pilots will have gained experience on that very same aircraft, as KLu pilots ar familiiarizing with KLM. Distinct detail is that PH-AON used to be the USAF Tanker demonstrator... :roll:

The Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) Unit (MMU) has been established,
the Luftwaffe announced on its website on 10 July.

Multinational MRTT Force (MMF) programme executive board chair, Royal Netherlands Navy Commodore Dick Kreiter,
handed over command of the MMU to its first commander,
Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Colonel Jurgen van der Biezen, on 10 July.

Col van der Biezen said on his LinkedIn page on 11 July that the unit would receive its first A330 MRTT on 1 May 2020.

The Luftwaffe said the MMF programme was agreed by Luxembourg and the Netherlands in November 2014,
with Germany and Norway joining in 2017, and Belgium in 2018.

The five nations will procure, operate, fund, and have exclusive use of up to eight aircraft,
which will belong to NATO, according to the Luftwaffe.

Nine NATO Airbus A330 MRTT tankers :?:
January 8, 2020

Luxembourg could acquire a new A330 MRTT tanker aircraft.

The Luxembourg government tabled a bill at the end of December
to amend the law of 5 July 2016 on Luxembourg's participation in the European supply aircraft program.

Luxembourg had been the first country with the Netherlands to buy two A330 MRTT planes
under the program called MMF (Multinational Multi Role Tanker) in July 2016.

Luxembourg, which is in the midst of building an air force,
had right to 200 hours of flight per year
except that the government wants to increase this contribution to 1,200 hours
with the acquisition of a new A330 MRTT aircraft,
which would be registered in the Netherlands.

With this sharp increase and this new acquisition,
the Luxembourg government would agree to major military investment efforts
which would amount to 259 million euros between 2016 and 2025
with an average annual operating cost of around 11.3 million euros. euros.

The cumulative investment and operating costs are estimated at a total amount of 598.4 million euros over thirty years.

The financing would be via the Military Equipment Fund created by law of December 16, 1997
concerning military financial programming.
Luxembourg would thus contribute 12,121% of the total costs of the MRTT program.

In the last position in the ranking of NATO countries in Defense spending,
Luxembourg intends to increase its Defense effort in the long term,
while filling a key NATO capability gap in the field of air supply and strategic transport.

“In fact, by increasing this participation by 1,000 units per year,
the program would be able to seize one of the options and therefore gain considerably in operational and technical flexibility.

Luxembourg, for its part, would benefit from a markedly increased visibility
by strengthening a program bringing together the faculties
to concretely fill a strategic capacity gap recognized both in NATO and in the European Union, " explains the bill.

Part of the flight hours of this new aircraft would be made available to the other members of the program
in order to compensate for the lack of assignment of Luxembourg personnel.

The European fleet of A330 MRTT tanker aircraft would then include nine aircraft. :!:

In February 2018, Belgium decided to integrate the program with the purchase of a device for an amount of 258 million euros for 1,000 flight hours per year.
Four other countries participate in the program:
Germany (5,500 flight hours), Netherlands (2,000 flight hours), Norway and the Czech Republic (100 flight hours).

Five of the eight A330 MRTTs will be stationed at the Eindhoven base.

The first two will arrive in the Netherlands in May 2020.
They will replace the 2 KDC-10s of the Luchtmacht.
The other three will be based in Cologne, Germany.
