VQ-BWT engine failure 20-2-21

B747-412BCF VQ-BWT Longtail Aviation had an uncontained engine failure on take-off from Maastricht-Aachen Airport today. Turbine blades landed in the village of Meerssen, the Jumbo diverted into Liege.

Ex PH-MPQ, EW-511TQ (amongst others)

True. Just to indicate that it’s a familiar airframe to most Dutch spotters, although I myself had not yet seen it since re-registration and delivery to Longtail.

Apparently, this bird has found a new engine as per ads-b it was seen crossing the Netherlands heading north on Sunday 28 february around 14.45 local time.
