I realise this comes to the edge of facts vs fiction vs opinion (so mods feel free to move to tattle lounge topic if deemed too opinionated), but I do want to post this links. Exactly right ehusmann. Just how I think.

The right word is Maskirovka.

The whole thing is very frustrating for a right thinking.

Each message we do is hell of work. Nothing for the tattle.

The first apparent hard evidence that Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was brought down by a surface-to-air missile is emerging from the crash site in eastern Ukraine, after experts confirmed on Monday there were signs of shrapnel damage to the aircraft.

The photograph above, first published by the Financial Times over the weekend,
shows a piece of the downed Boeing 777 about a metre square with a gaping hole in the middle, surrounded by smaller holes and apparent burn marks.

Also there:
All three (experts) confirmed the part of the aircraft in the photograph was the port side of the Boeing 777’s cockpit.
I wonder how long the Dutch media will still need to speak of 'the assault on MH17' instead of 'the air disaster' and accept that not just 'according to the Americans' this is what happened.

Were is several more parts of the plane who show signs of scrapnels. Very large and long scrapnels. Seen on Internet.

But the worst thing is what some passengers could be alive after the large fall. Were is examples of people living after a large fall. Some were sitting in the seats before the hit of ground. Some people seems unhurt on ground. A fast search and rescue are life saving.

The chances of surviving an explosion in the air are microscopic. But pictures of the plane crash suggests that some of the victims may have been conscious when they fell from 10,000 meters, according to aviation expert.

The scenario is well described by the crash in 1982 with the flight TW800, a jumbo jet that exploded off Long Island shortly after it had taken off from New York, says Stefan Carneros. The parts from TW800 has been joined again and the plane used today for training purposes.

In the wake of the fatal downing of an airliner over occupied Ukraine on 17 July, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has issued
an urgent solicitation to acquire an unmanned air vehicle capability to monitor the area.

The OSCE is conducting a special monitoring mission in Ukraine following the crash of the Boeing 777-200ER that is understood to have been brought down by a surface-to-air missile.
The organisation now requires a UAV “turnkey solution” to aid with the assessment, and responses are due by Friday 25 July.

“The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) hereby solicits your bid for a turnkey solution
for provision of unarmed aerial vehicle (UAV) services in Ukraine
in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the ITB [invitation to bid] documents,” the solicitation reads.

This morning arrived at Eindhoven Air Base Royal Australian Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III tail nr A41-209 as AS620 .

Dutch MoD: an Australian C-17 and Dutch C-130 will transport the remains of all victims from Kharkov to RNLAF Eindhoven air base.

Netherlands Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules G-781 as NAF20 working 128.350 MHz heading Charkov Ukraine also participating.

Satellite imagery. It looks like some Grabove residents should really thank their lucky stars! :shock:
SINGAPORE: New satellite images released on Tuesday (July 22) show the crash site of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which went down in eastern Ukraine last Thursday and killed all 298 people on board.

The images, taken last Sunday and released by Airbus Defence & Space and AllSource Analysis, show the primary crash site where the plane’s engines were found.

Stating the obvious, that it is of course a terrible tragedy and I don't want to come across as insensitive but I do have a question regarding the people aboard. With respect to those who lost their lives in this disaster, if we remember 9/11, there were people that jumped out of the towers because of the intense heat and reportedly were 'flat' when they hit the ground. How can it be possible that this aircraft, which flew at 33,000feet, was shot out of the sky and the people who were in it, just looked as if they were laid there on the ground. Reports of people near the crash site spoke of people falling out of the sky. It's just something I can't understand. Anyone with an explanation?

I have no knowledge of how a body remains after such a fall and what can and cannot happen to it. What I have seen though, are pictures from the crashsite where some bodies certainly did not look like 'they were just laid out'. Not a pretty sight...

Data Cockpit Voice Recorder MH17 downloaded

On Tuesday 22 July 2014 at 22:00 in Kiev, Ukraine, the flight data and cockpit voice recorders (the 'black boxes') from the Malaysian Airlines flight 17 were taken into custody by the Dutch ambassador and a team of investigators led by the Dutch Safety Board.

The Dutch Safety Board requested that the Air Accident Investigation Branch of the United Kingdom (AAIB) perform the data download from both the recorders.
The recorders were transported to the AAIB's laboratory at Farnborough, arriving 23rd July in the early morning.

An international team of investigators has conducted a thorough examination of the Cockpit Voice Recorder.

The Cockpit Voice Recorder was damaged but the memory module was intact.

Furthermore no evidence or indications of manipulation of the Cockpit Voice Recorder was found.

Following the examination, the Cockpit Voice Recorder data was successfully downloaded and contained valid data from the flight.

The downloaded data have to be further analysed and investigated.

A thorough analysis of the information obtained will take time, the results of this will be included in the investigation.

Tomorrow the team will start the examination of the Flight Data Recorder.

This will show whether this recorder also contains relevant information, in which case the data from both recorders will be combined.
