‎AIRBUS DELIVERS FIRST COPY OF VIP VERSION A220‎
ACJ TwoTwenty

Airbus has delivered the first ACJ TwoTwenty to Comlux. The VIP device will use this from 2023 on behalf of hotel chain FIVE. Before that happens, the aircraft is provided with a luxurious interior. ‎
‎The ACJ TwoTwenty, as the ACJ220 is officially called, is derived from the popular A220. Instead of rows of chairs, the type is arranged entirely according to the wishes of the end user. It has 73 meters of floor space to fill with chairs, benches, tables, and beds. It is also possible to have a bathroom installed on board.‎
‎The type has a flight range of about twelve hours, so that large distances can be covered. FIVE wants to use the ACJ TwoTwenty to transport guests to its luxury hotels.‎

‎FOKKER TECHNOLOGIES ALSO SUPPLIER OF LATEST GULFSTREAM BUSINESS JETS‎

‎Fokker Technologies in Papendrecht and Hoogeveen will continue to supply parts to the American business jet manufacturer Gulfstream. Parent company GKN Aerospace reports that it has been selected as a supplier for the new Gulfstream G800 and G400.‎

‎GKN Aerospace will be responsible for, among other things, supplying the tailpiece and floor plates of the G800, and the rudder and machined wing skins of the G400. These are partly parts that are manufactured from durable, lightweight thermoplastics. The rudders, tail surfaces and floor panels are made of this material.‎

‎An expert team from GKN Aerospace is now involved in the design process of the parts. The production will take place at the sites in Papendrecht and Hoogeveen, as well as in Chihuahua (Mexico) and Wellington (USA).‎

‎Fokker Technologies has been supplying parts to Gulfstream since 1993. The company is responsible for the design and production of numerous business jet tailpieces that the manufacturer has brought to market over the years. At the moment, the company is building tailpieces for the G650 and G700, among other things.‎

‎Fokker Technologies came into the hands of the British GKN Aerospace in 2015. Two other industries - Fokker Services and Fokker Techniek - were ‎‎sold‎‎ last year to the Dutch investment company Panta Holdings.‎

‎NETJETS ON EUROPEAN TOUR WITH BOMBARDIER CHALLENGER 650‎

‎NetJets, the largest business jet company in the world, showed the Bombardier Challenger 650 to wealthy European customers this week. Schiphol, among others, was visited with the type, which is already being used by NetJets in the US and will make its European debut next autumn.‎

‎The Challenger 650 is the bigger brother of the Challenger 350 and can carry eleven passengers, just like the Dassault Falcon 2000EX with which NetJets also flies. The type has a flight range of 6,600 kilometers and can therefore fly non-stop from Schiphol to New York. "However, we expect that the type will mainly be used within Europe," says Carsten Michaelis, Executive Director of Sales & Marketing for NetJets Europe, when asked.‎

‎According to Michaelis, the demand for private flights, both from companies and wealthy individuals, is rising sharply. "During the corona crisis, an alternative was sought for scheduled flights that had been cancelled." During the May holidays, when long queues arose at Schiphol due to a staff shortage on the ground, NetJets even operated last-minute flights for travelers who saw their holiday flight cancelled or tired of waiting.‎

‎On board the Challenger 650 there are eleven seats: eight seats and a three-seater sofa. The aircraft is flown by two pilots, and if desired, a flight attendant can take it. The unit has a toilet, kitchen, inflight entertainment and WiFi.‎

‎The European tour started on 16 May in Copenhagen, after which London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Madrid and Paris were visited.‎

‎NetJets can compete with the largest airlines in the world in terms of fleet. The company currently owns more than 800 aircraft, ranging in size from the small Embraer Phenom 300 (six passengers) to Bombardier Global 6000 (thirteen seats). To respond to the growing market demand, NetJets has ordered many new aircraft. Between now and the end of 2022, no less than a hundred aircraft will join the fleet, with a value of 2.5 billion dollars.‎

‎BOMBARDIER INTRODUCES BUSINESS JET WITH THE LARGEST FLIGHT RANGE ‎

‎Bombardier has officially launched the Global 8000: the fastest and furthest flying purpose-built business jet in the world and the fastest airliner since concorde. The official launch of the new type took place on the first day of the European business jet exchange EBACE in Geneva.‎

‎The flight range of the Global 8000 will be – as the type name suggests – 8,000 nautical miles, or 14,816 kilometers. The top speed of the twin-engine business jet will be Mach 0.94, which corresponds to 1152 kilometers per hour. The Entry-into-Service (EIS) is planned for 2025.‎

‎The aircraft is based on the existing Global 7500, but can fly faster and further due to technical adjustments. Owners of that type have the option to 'retrofit' their aircraft to achieve the same performance of the Global 8000.‎

‎Until a few years ago, Bombardier was a conglomerate that was also engaged in the construction of regional passenger aircraft and trains. Today, the Canadian company is only engaged in the construction of business jets.‎

It seems they are both for Cartier Europe as replacements for PH-JWL and PH-WTC, so they will be based at Paris Le Bourget.
