Hey, shots from runway 28! Long time I've seen them posted here. :)
Nice to see that again.
BTW, the Cougar is dirty because of the combination of the exhaust and the paint.

Are there any spotters at Gilze taking pictures of visiting aircraft or is there only Dutch activity at the slope whole year long. O, I forgot last week there was a B707 sorry.

Visiting aircraft are just not interesting for the Gilze spotters, for example we prefer to have 1 Chinook at the slopes than have 2 Romanian Mig-21's for a touch&go on Runway28 :censored: :uhuh: {;)

Gilze spotters have to made a choice between two spots (runway 28 side or slopes). If you decide to choose for the second option you will miss all the visitors if you have western winds. With eastern wind, meaning runway 10 in use, most (Gilze) spotters can be found at the slopes side.

.... but be patient. Not everyday a helicopter can be seen at the slopes. So do not be disappointed when you do not see a helicopter overthere. Next to that also non Gilze spotters who visit the slopes and were lucky to photograph one of our many helicopters are willing to share these photo's. Runway 28 and the slopes are the best photospots within dutch military aviation :). .. outside the fence ofcourse.

... but these are only my thoughts about how most spotters think. You are more then welcome to visit the largest helicoper base within Europe. At Gilze at least you have a choice to which spot you want to go  . Do not hesitate to share the pictures in this forum. I still enjoy watching all the pics made at Gilze.

Good luck,

Edward.
