Good stuff Bert !!

Shall we turn this in remember the eighties topic?

rgds
EC
It seems the decision has already been made for me...
Please feel free to add some of your own, but don't do so many 707's, because there's already a topic around for those! When it's becoming appropriate, i'll change the title of this topic :D
Only the registration shows the previous owner of this 707. Royal Jordanian, or Alia as it was then known
Indeed. The ALIA 707 in full c/s can be seen in the background of my picture 17 (between engines and nosewheel)
Very enjoyable Bert, and all of this with "just the regulars" of those days...
Indeed, nothing special here :D :D

Is it only me or do more people like these uncluttered platforms better? It's sort of a clean desk policy.

Ow... nice Air Florida. Never seen one of those :(

I've came across a nice one (I at least think so) made at Eelde on 21 december 1983.
This is a picture of LN-KLK, a Convair Cv440-75 of NorFly A/S, during start-up.
In those days it was still working for a living, but in 1984 it was bought by the Norsk Metropolitan Club (a sort of DDA).

After the demise of Brannif, Canadian CP Air took care of the presence of colorfull aircraft at Schiphol. Here is B747 C-FCRB in May 1985. A year later CP Air swapped its B747 fleet for PIA's DC-10 fleet. The
exchanges took place at Schiphol.
Image

Previous owner Air Canada can still be recognised in this summer of 1985 Iberia holiday charter B747 EC-DXE.
Image

Before being merged into Canadian Airlines, the B747's of Wardair were frequent guests. This pic shows C-FFUN in September 1986.
Image

Royal Jordanian (Alia) showed various colors in the 80's. Here is JY-AFS in April 1986.
Image

The next c/s of Royal Jordanian was perhaps their most striking one. A few years later it was replaced by a far more depressing version. This pic shows B747 JY-AFA in August 1986.
Image

China Airlines was one of the relatively few companies operating the B747SP. American registered N4508H is seen here during take off in September 1986.
Image

When South Africa was still 'not done' in the 80's it nevertheless operated services to Schiphol. Here is ZS-SAS in July 1986. It would crash into the Indian Ocean about a year later.
Image

The Iraqi regime was still acceptable in the 80's. It was even allowed for them to send their VIP B747SP YI-ALM to KLM for maintenance. It made this post-maintenance test flight in August 1986.
Image

A foggy October 1986 Sunday along 19R (yes, old name) brought this nice surprise. Aviateca Guatemala B727 TG-ALA was on its way to IAI in Israel for maintenance. A fuel stop was made at Schiphol.
Image

KLM was a member of the KSSU group (KLM, Swissair, SAS and UTA) and performed maintenance on the B747's of the member airlines. UTA sent B747 F-GBOX for maintenance to Schiphol in August 1984.
Image

South Pacific Island Airways operated a Sunday service to Schiphol in 1984. Here is B707 N145SP on the inaugural flight from Honolulu to our country in September. It arrived a few hours late and was
said to have been 'lost' over the Soviet Union. Not a wise thing to do in those days. Might as well just have been a rumour.

Tasty, tasty... :P
Interesting story about the South Pacific. I would estimate they routed through Anchorage so they would have been quite a bit off track if entering Soviet airspace.

Erik,
Yes indeed. Although they could just as well have been late due to the captain being stuck in a Honolulu traffic jam....

We probably agree on which is more likely ;)
(BTW, in either case, the captain's preparation was suboptimal!)

A few more scanned slides as I am working my way through my archives.
Some Lockheed Tri-holers and smoking Russians this time.

N81025 spend its entire life with TWA. Scrapped about 10 years ago.
Image

Royal Jordanian JY-AGB in one of its best liveries. About to pass over the A4 tunnel.
Image

Destroyed by Tamil bombing two years later this Air Lanka 4R-ULD crosses the A4 bridge in 1984.
Image

CS-TEC of TAP was to become a long term resident of Schiphol with Luzair a few years ago.
Image

Scrapped in the Arabian desert only a few months ago was this Saudia HZ-AHN.
Image

ATA was a not so frequent visitor of Schiphol. Perhaps this N185AT was on a military charter?
Image

Long before the Balkan misery started this Aviogenex YU-AJV was often seen in 1983.
Image

Scrapped in Budapest in 1997. Malev's HA-LBI was still in a good health in 1986 although it was a heavy smoker.
Image

It's bigger brother HA-LCH on a glorious summer day along the Kaagbaan.
Image

CSA's OK-TCB in a pretty quick take-off.
Image

Yes the 80's did not know the ban on smoking, otherwise OK-IFN would have had to turn around at the border.
Image

Over the years TAROM changed its colors from red (appropriate those days) to blue. This is YR-TPK on the Kaagbaan.
Image

Interflug's DDR-SEK while reversing (edit) on rwy 06.
Image

What a nice sound those flying crates produced. DDR-STE of Interflug on its way to rwy 01L.
Image

Tu-134 DDR-SCR braking before exiting rwy 24.
Image

Another nice day along the Kaagbaan. SP-LHD of LOT passing me and my bicycle.
Image

It's bigger brother SP-LCA also on rwy 24.
Image

LOT's SP-LBF while speeding along what now is a concrete platform. The old spottersplace along the Kaagbaan is dearly missed.
Image

Another fine example of Russian aviation. SP-LSG of LOT about to park on the platform.
Image

Comrade helping comrade. LOT hired CCCP-85331 from Aeroflot for a while.
Image

Last member of the communist block in this post is Balkan Bulgarian. Here seen is LZ-TUS on its way to the gate.
Image

Balkan's LZ-BTW on the Kaagbaan.

Indeed, very nice shots.

One little thingy though, maybe it's just me and I'm missing something, but:
