finally some real action. 1 take off abort / tail hook usage, 1 (hydraulic) emergency and lot of smoke at the end of the runway. Too bad that after the take off abort, the other 4 planes ready for take of had to stay on the ground while we had to leave for an inbound AH-64D

Hi Marco,

Nice pics. Has anyone of your group been able to sneak into the cockpits of the AH-64DI Sarafs to get their US serials and/or construction numbers (DIN... or DIR...)?

no I do not thinks so, only the maintenance hangar was a possibility, but I believe no. There was 1 unmarked olive drapped AH-64 outside, no markings, but s/n PV162 / BO10162.

The other AH-64's we were kept of by far. We were surprising them by our visit. We were on visit with the Negev Sq and not announced to them that we were going to visit them....

The first picture of a flying AH-64 is an AH-64A.
Do they have more A's or are all the others D's.

Thanks for the feedback! Any pics of PV162? This one was supposed to become the first remanufactured Saraf (I saw it at Mesa as 'IS1' in 2003) but apparently they changed plans...

Hi Marco,

Thanks for sharing your stunning shots! Not often publish pics from Ramon.
About your AH-64A/D PV162, Israeli AF like to tease our spotters because this s/n was ex 950 but in real 719 is seen operational with 113sq in desert c/s in June2006 so indeed numbers changed!

Hi Maurits,

Please don't jump to conclusions this easily! Where did you get this information from? In fact AH-64A #950 (PV162) and AH-64D #719 should be two seperate airframes, which were both noted in June 2006. If you can prove otherwise, I'll be glad to hear from you again.

Best regards,
Edwin

Yep, nice base for decent approach shots as well, albeit a bit hot and hazy ;-)
