Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Lajes August 2022 (CIV/MIL)

Post by MikeRomeo »

Hello everyone. August was a bit dull until the second half of the month. At one point I think there were more bizjets then military aircraft from USAF/Navy and other Air Forces. Then there were several P-8's based here. A total of 9 were seen. There were also several USAF C-130 flying eastbound, mostly from Bangor to Rota. CS-TSE started operating for SATA this month. Its tail logo is bigger then the other Dash 8 and the same as the A320/A321neo. SAM660 operated several traffic patterns before making a full stop, flying from Paris LBG. It is pictured on its 2nd touch and go. There were no fighter jet movements this month.

If you would like to have a rundown of the movements at Lajes you can check my blog, on the Monthly Reports section, and read between pages 13 and 16. Or you can access it on this link:

Best regards

Hi Peter!

I can do that, of course. But the fact is there aren't that many mil/civilian (apart from the usual schedule airlines [PH-TFP is flying to here as I write]) that visit Lajes these days. So far this month I've taken photos of only 4 movements (yesterday SPAR18 05-0932 C-40C took a short taxi route and was gone by the time I got to the airport).
But I can give it a try, however it will probably result in more topics with 1 or 2 pictures. But on the other hand you (and others) will get the information on a more timely way.

Best regards
