Wittmund 3 June 2021

Post by Theo1 »

Hello,

Finally I found the time for a thorough test of my new Olympus gear.
The decision was made to go to Wittmund to catch the Farewell tour of the Transall (which turned out to a bit of a disappointment because the formation flew directly over the heads of the spotters).
Throughout the day the following was seen:
C-GITA/040 Alpha jet A Top Aces (in Hanger)
C-FGZI /531 A-4N Top Aces
C-FGZH/534 A-4N Top Aces
C-FGZT/542 A-4N Top Aces (in Hanger)
C-FGWT/499 TA-4J Top Aces (in Hanger)
30+07 EF-2000 TLG-71
30+12 EF-2000 TLG-71 (in Hangar)
30+14 EF-2000 (T) TLG-71
30+28 EF-2000 TLG-71
30+31 EF-2000 (T) TLG-71
30+58 EF-2000 TLG-71
30+78 EF-2000 TLG-71
30+85 EF-2000 TLG-71
30+87 EF-2000 TLG-71
50+40 C-160D LTG-63 special colors
50+66 C-160D LTG-63

Theo, tell us about your new Olympus gear.
What camera and lenses did you try, and how are they performing in terms of sharpness/autofocus and noise ?
Just curious.

@ Viper 02 and Krazy, thanks for your comments.

@aerobert
As said by Krazy, the camera I use, in this case, was an Olympus OM D 1 Mark II with the Olympus 100-400mm.
When you go to my Flickr site (see my first post) click on the photos. At the bottom of each photo you can see the information button (i). Click on it and you see the equipment and settings I use for that particularly photo.
I must say that I’m very satisfied with the results in terms of Sharpness.
The camera reacts very fast with moving objects, it snaps on every time on the subject very, very fast.
Noise performance. I mostly shoot aircraft in daylight so ISO’s settings can stay below 800. So noise isn’t an issue.

Thank you Theo very nice shots. I'm planning to go to Wittmund myself one of these day. Do you still need a ladder and how many steps do you need on the ladder? Thanks very much
All the best Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reaction.
A ladder with at least 4 steps would be fine.
Wish you an enjoyable day at Wittmund.

Theo
