Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Istanbul 11-12 September 2018

Post by EC »

The new mega airport of Istanbul is nearing completion and the days of Ataturk airport as main hub are rapidly coming to an end. Probably before the end of this year.
To enjoy the traffic at Istanbul one more time I made a visit on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 september. Next to a Gazillion Turkish Airlines these were the other highlights.

The pictures were taken at the waterside of the Florya recreational area in the morning and the Fly Inn shopping mall in the afternoon.
If you like undisturbed spotting, Istanbul is no longer the place for you. The police patrols reguarly and, depending on their mood, may
ask you to stop photographing.

Excellent pictures thank you. I have been to the Fly Inn centre many times and am thinking of a last November trip.
Do the Police patrols you mention apply to the seating area outside just by Burger King on food level ?

I was there from 11 - 14 sept. I saw no police or security at the mall. Except those at the entrance. So no problems at the Flyinn. At the beach I was passed many times by police and security and once I was asked not to take pictures of the planes.
Kind regards
