Phalsbourg-Bourscheid 2 July 2017 (heavy topic)

Post by Fishbed_9307 »

Hi all,

Last Saturday we visited the small airshow at Phalsbourg with the intention to combine it with Saint Dizier as everybody else did. In the end we decided to stay and venture outside the base for the afternoon part of the airshow as the morning demo turned out to be difficult to photograph. We found an elevated position to take some nice pictures of the departing helicopters. Despite the fact that the sun was away for holidays during the weekend, we were very pleased with the results! Hope you like them!

Regards, Paul

Our guess that the participating helicopters were holding in a field outside the base turned out to be right and actually the field we guessed appeared to be spot-on! We were very exited to find the two Gazelles and the Tigre sitting out there. The Puma's and Caimans were at another location but the Puma's were quickly found. Unfortunately no time was left to find the NH90's.

Hi Paul,

Your choice to stay turned out to be a rewarding one: NICE pictures !!
A second thought arose as well: I started spotting in 1981, back then the Gazelle and the Puma were already
active with the Armée de Terre. 36 years later: still going strong! An d I love it........
