Officially it is forbidden, but they tolerate them as long as you are transitting to another country and batteries are removed during the stretch through Germany.
Thx !

That's realy great news! Looking forward inspecting you aircraft from close by.

Was also hoping for one of your examples at RIAT this year but maybe next year :)

See you in Geilenkirchen!

Your CH-47F would also fit nicely in the static display at Fairford  . Hope they will contact you yet. It's not impossible indeed! And if not, then maybe next year. i'm looking forward to Geilenkirchen now. Thank you for your support!

keep in mind we have other commitments as well, more of the operational type, so we may not always be available. Trust me, I would love to be the guy on airshow duty. I got lucky with Geilenkirchen

At this point it is unknown whether the US CH-47F will arrive on Thursday the 29th or Friday the 30th. Personally I am hoping on Thursday so I can spend the day Friday catching all of the other arrivals! I will do my best to update.

I would propose you do a flyby at Eindhoven airbase in the Netherlands first and then proceed to Geilenkirchen   haha.

Just joking. It's great you will attend the Geilenkirchen airshow with one of your beasts :!:

Will there be a flying display on the Saturday and Sunday, or just a static?

the last edition in 2012 (is it really that long ago? :| ) had no flying activities at all during the weekend, so no departures on sunday either.

What can I expect of the spotter facilities on Friday.
As I remember of last time the spotters stood far of the runway and taxiing planes often did not pass the spotters as they took a shorter way to the static.
Can somebody give some info?

Regards

I am considering to visit the Airshow, as I understand no Flying activities at all.
How about the static is it even possible to make decent pictures? Looking at previous events at Geilenkirchen it looks difficult making decent pictures. Anyone?

Thanks :(
