For the time, departure of the An-225 (that still has to arrive at this moment), planned by 07:05LT. Most likely from 18C, despite other runways in use.

And going to Minsk I understand. Would she be likely to bank East or West after take-off? I'm trying to plan a photo spot.

Thanks for any educated guesses.

Tough one. My (educated? ) guess would be leave NL via the northern route over Groningen. In that case, I expect a 'Spijkerboor departure' from 18C, which is a right turn after take-off. In nearly all other options it would be a departure going initially straight ahead, for a few kilometers.

Scheduled take-off now 07:20 according today's thread.

Yes; no, not likely.

Yes, but not likely with tomorrow's weather forecast. For more info on the runway use and taxi restrictions, see the topic of the 26th (I wrote there what I know, as post #6. Others gave additional info later on).
I am inclined to believe the airport spokeswoman combines the planned departure with the experienced delay, and therefor speaks of 'sometime during the morning'. Guyz, this is spotting pure, no armchair airframe scoring! 8)

From conversations with ground control : "departure tomorrow morning at 0700, but with the present bad visibility it will not be able to depart ......."

My question is: Is the An-225 expected to taxi to 18C/36C via the A4 viaduct or is it more likely to use the "Schipholtunnel overpass" ?

Hi Iwan,

the An225 is already parked on the taxitrack "next" to runway 18/36C, so, when leaving, it does not have to cross either overpass (A4/rwy09) you mention! It is already on the correct side of the A4 motorway. Two interesting observations given the weatherforecast and the time of departure though:

1. if it takes an 18C departure (heading south), it will have to make a U-turn somewhere for at present it is parked halfway down the runway with the nose heading south;

2. again with an 18C departure foreseen around 0700-0720: that will make for one VERY BIG aeroplane crossing the early morning traffic on the A4 motorway at VERY LOW level... might make for some scared or distracted motorists... and will probably also scare some people in Aalsmeer sh*tless. It will therefore make an interesting sight that will definitely make a big impression... weather permitting :picture:

Always going forward... still can't find reverse!

Thanks Frank,

I missed the 26-december topic, but Key gave me a hint to look there. You are right about the take off procedure. I hope I can make it in time from my nightshift to see it in person.

See you all tomorrow, I guess....

Cheers,
Iwan
