Vorige week las ik ergens een bericht over de Ghanese president. Hij was toen met z,n F28 op weg naar een viering in ,ik meen, Burkina Faso en moest na een half uur al een noodlanding maken ivm een technisch probleem. Ik weet niet meer wat het probleem was, maar ik denk niet dat hij een week later zo'n lange reis gaat proberen.
Die Falcon is dan ook wel logisch, ik gok dat hij van Parijs ofzo komt en daar met een lijndienst aan komt? how low can you go.....
Laten we hopen dat het technisch probleem zodanig is dat hij nog eens naar Woensdrecht komt, dan maken we nog een klein kansje.

Maar toch prachtig dat die F28 nog rondvliegt, ongelofelijk. Dat ding moet minstens 21 jaar oud zijn en misschien nog veel ouder.

doe er maar 10 jaar bij. first flight 20/09/1977 en afgeleverd in september 1978. Is trouwens een F28-3000 en daar zijn en/of waren er niet zoveel van.

Toevallig ff te neuze in de foto,s vanmiddag.
In Juni 2001 heeft deze beauty nog in het stored lijntje Fokkers op EHWO gestaan.
En 29 Mei 2001 was hij al eens op Rotterdam voor een weekend stop omdat Woensdrecht al dicht was.
Nog even gegoogled, heir het volledige bericht ,34 jaar of 31, ach wat maakt het uit, een lekker oud beestje.

PRESIDENT J.A. Kufuor’s trip to Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, to participate in that country’s celebration independence celebration, was cut short when the plane developed a fault in mid-air. The 34-year-old Fokker 28 presidential jet, carrying also top state officials, security details and journalists, including Times Correspondent Samuel Amoako, had to make an emergency landing at Kotoka International Airport.
The plain developed what aviation experts called a “pressurisation”.
The aircraft had covered only 20 minutes of the three-and-half hour journey when the fault was detected and the pilots decided to return to Accra.
Air Commodore Michael Samson-Oje and Group Captain Emmanuel Obeng Bekoe who were handling the plane, said they heard an unusual noise in the engine shortly after take-off.
A few minutes afterwards, the pressure system of the aircraft changed, causing the oxygen flow to cease, which affected the air conditioning system.
The engine became hotter and hotter and according to the experts, this could have caused the aircraft to catch fire mid air.
After the flight engineers had made frantic efforts to correct the system without success, they informed the President who directed that the flight be returned to Accra if it was possible.
Aviation experts described the fault developed by the aircraft as “a very serious one” the type which had been the cause of many plane disasters in the world.
Popularly known as the “Flying Coffin”, the presidential jet in question was acquired by General Kutu Acheampong’s regime in 1974 and has since gone through a number of refurbishments.
