PBM heeft geen hangaar waar een 772 in past. Hopelijk past een B772 in de SLM hangaar op PBM.

The flight that would bring more than 100 Brazilians from Suriname to land in Belém has been canceled,
according to the airline Surinam Airways (SLM).
The trip was negotiated by the Brazilian government with the company,
after a neighboring country closed the local airport due to the coronavirus.
The airline informed the passengers and alleged urgent reasons by email.
In a note, the company just apologized for the inconvenience.
The flight is part of a government effort to bring Brazilians who are prevented from returning to the country
due to the cancellation of flights resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
The Brazilian repatriation trip from Suriname was announced last Friday (20th) by the airline.
According to the company, a flight, departing from Paramaribo at 6:45 pm on Sunday (22),
would bring more than 100 Brazilians to Belém.
The company informed that the trips were negotiated with the Federal Government.
Regarding the cancellation,
the Embassy of Brazil asked the airline to inform the reason for the cancellation
and if a new flight would take place on another date,
since the company opened its office on Saturday
to issue and purchase tickets for Brazilians wishing to travel to Belém on that flight.
SLM said it was unable to provide further information at that time, according to the embassy.

The Embassy of Brazil in Suriname was officially informed, at 23:05 yesterday, Saturday, March 21,
by Surinam Airways (SLM) that the flight scheduled to leave Paramaribo today, Sunday, March 22, at 18:45,
bound for Belém had been canceled.
In response, the Embassy of Brazil asked SLM to inform the reason for the cancellation
and whether a new flight would take place on a new date,
especially after the company opened its office yesterday to issue and purchase tickets for Brazilians
wishing to travel to Belém on that flight.
SLM indicated that it was unable to provide further information at that time.
The Embassy of Brazil shares the frustration of those looking to return to Brazil
and remains in contact with the Government of Suriname and the SLM
to obtain further clarification on the unexpected cancellation of today's flight
and on the announcement of a new flight to Belém.
The Embassy will keep the Brazilian community and, in particular,
passengers who bought their airline tickets yesterday informed of the evolution of the matter,
based, as always, solely and exclusively
on official communications from SLM and the Government of Suriname in this regard.

Vanwege de COVID-19 pandemie heeft de regering van Suriname besloten enkele maatregelen te treffen.
Eén van deze maatregelen betreft het sluiten van ons luchtruim tot nader orde.
Deze overigens begrijpelijke maatregel,
heeft gevolgen voor het personenverkeer
als voor de export van vooral agrarische producten, t.w. groenten en fruit.
De Vereniging van Exporteurs van Agrarische Producten, VEAPS
en het ministerie van Landbouw, Veeteelt en Visserij (LVV)
hebben de handen in elkaar geslagen en zijn er verschillende oplossingsmodellen aangedragen.
Een deel van de agrarische producten kan worden afgezet tijdens de verkoopacties geïnitieerd door het ministerie van LVV.
De nationale carrier, Surinam Airways, is bereid gevonden om op dinsdag 28 april een cargo chartervlucht uit te voeren,
zodat de VEAPS de landbouwproducten kan exporteren.
