Pilot Ray Battle and WSO Ken Boone were hit while flying a mission over Tchepone, Laos. The pilot lost control of the aircraft and told the WSO to eject.
After the WSO ejected, pilot Ray Battle was able to regain control and landed at Ubon Air Base in Thailand.
The runway was foamed and the aircraft slid off the runway and came to a stop in a massive cloud of dust and dirt.
The Pilot survived uninjured and the WSO, Ken Boone, was rescued.
Nothing flies like a Phantom.
