Scramble Military Serials Europe 2013

Post by Thijs »

After two years of absence this year we will release another edition of the Scramble Military Serials Europe 2013. The quality remains the same compared to the previous editions. But the content and lay-out will be slightly different. More information in a latter stage.

At this moment we are checking all the data and making it ready for publication, but there is one thing missing, a stunning front cover!

Submit your contribution to sms@scramble.nl when your photo makes it to the front cover, a free copy of the SMS EU 2013 will be yours.

The front cover is a 'portrait' photo at high resolution, which should be able to accommodate the Scramble logo and various texts above and below the subject. This leads to a minimum size requirement of 2100 pixels wide and 3000 pixels high.

We look forward to your contribution!

On behalf of the Scramble team,

Is it necessary that the picture was made recently?

As long as the particular aircraft is still in use with one of the defence forces mentioned in the publication it is suitable.

So it has to be an "European" airframe.

Hi,

since I insisted a lot for the new edition, I thought it would be fair to tell you my opinion about it :D

1) First of all, thank you a lot for your great work! It´s really good to have again a updated edition in your hands. I hope, we will see again every year a updated book be published :)
2) The idea with the colored pictures was a very good one. It gives the whole book a special touch!
3) The new format is a little bit small. I didn´t had any problems with the old one, it always was possible to take it with you in your camera bag. In the new one, you don´t have enough space for comments, corrections, etc.
4) There are a few entries that I don´t understand. For example, you have included the S300 battery of the HAF. In this case, why didn´t you also include the Patriot batteries? They have the same status.
5) Did you thought, in the next edition to include maybe also the most common to see in (Western) Europe Russian & Ukrainian Air Force planes (especially since the UkrAF Su-27´s participate relatively a lot in airshows abroad)? By the way, thank you for including again the Singapore M346 and A-4!
6) It´s only my personal opinion, but I would like it more if the different air arms (Air Force, Naval Aviation, Army Aviation, Paramilitary, Government) would be separated. It would be a lot more easier to see what you have and what not.
7) There are a few bad layout faults.

and finally, my wish for next year,

8) Do you plan any updated American edition? :)

I hope the above is not coming through to negative. That´s for sure not my intention!!! As I said, the book is great and I sure we all want only the best for you and all of us.
