Wasaya Airways acquires ATR-freighters

Wasaya Airways has acquired three ATR-freighters, which the airline is planning to use to replace its four HS748s as maintaining these is becoming too costly. One ATR42-300F, C-FCIJ (139) has been acquired from Calm Air, while two ATR72-200Fs have been purchased from Airstream International. These two aircraft are, according to Airstream's press-release, N807HC (432) and N810HC (423), which were previously operated by Empire Airlines for Ohana by Hawaiian until October 2020.

According to CargoFacts, Wasaya Airways is planning to start deploying its new ATRs from the last quarter of this year. Today, Wasaya's fleet consists of six Beech 1900Ds, one Cessna 208, four DHC-8-100s, four HS748s and three PC-12s. The airline is based at Thunder Bay in the province of Ontario and offers  scheduled and charter passenger- and cargo-flights.
