United Nigeria acquires B737-800s
United Nigeria has signed an agreement with Southwest Airlines in which the carrier is acquiring six B737-800s from the US low-cost carrier. The deal also includes the option for the Nigerian airline to buy another four aircraft. Delivery of the six is expected to commence in the first quarter in 2026 and completed a year later.
Currently, United Nigeria is operating a fleet of four Embraer ERJ145s, of which one is parked after being damaged at Lagos on 31 May 2023. The airline only flies to domestic destinations out of its base at Lagos.
