The second day of the Paris Air Show is behind us. It was a much slower day and saw order announcements from Airbus, Leonardo, and De Havilland.
Leonardo has sold two C-27Js to Aloula Aviation. This Saudi Arabia-based company is a fully owned subsidiary of Aramco. The order is the first order from a civil operator for the type. Aloula will use the new aircraft for cargo, oil spill response, aerial fire fighting, and medical evacuation operations. Delivery of the duo is scheduled for 2027.
Ethiopian Airlines and De Havilland Canada announced a deal for two DHC-6-300Gs. The -300G is a new version of the venerable Twin Otter, which was launched during this year's Paris Air Show. No delivery timeline has been communicated. Ethiopian Airlines isn't a stranger to operating DHC-6s as it flew with seven of them in the past.
As expected by us, VietJet has signed a new order with Airbus for more A321neos. The deal is a firm order for 100 aircraft with options on another 50. With this latest order, the airline now has a total of 196 A320neo-family aircraft on firm order. Furthermore, it has open orders with the European manufacturer for 40 A330-900s and with Boeing for 200 B737MAXs.
