LOT takes-over B737MAXs from Blue Air

The suspension of operations by Blue Air has prompted LOT to reach an agreement with lessor Air Lease Corporation to take-over the five Boeing B737-8s that were previously operated by the Romanian carrier. A sixth B737-8 is also part of the agreement and will be a factory-fresh aircraft. The first former Blue Air B737-8 is expected to be delivered in the coming weeks already.

LOT currently operates a fleet of five B737-8s and six B737-800s, as well as eight B787-8s, seven B787-9s, nine DHC-8-400s, six Embraer ERJ170s, ten ERJ175s, eight ERJ190s and fifteen ERJ195s.

Last year, LOT cancelled lease-agreements for six B737-8s due to the late delivery of the aircraft. These aircraft had already been produced and are now, mostly, in the hands of other operators.
