Las Vegas Sands B747SP heavily damaged

One of Las Vegas Sands Corporation's two B747SP got severly damaged in a hangar at Lake Charles-Chennault International Airport (LA) when hurricane Laura struck the airport on 27 August.

In the hangar was also a Boeing BBJ and the strong winds pushed both planes into each other, resulting in a lot of damage. The SP involved is presumed to be VQ-BMS, while the BBJ is said to be N836BA.

Looking at the damage of the B747SP we fear it's critical, especially looking at the age of the aircraft as it's from 1979.
