Russia L 410 2 640L-410 crash in Russia

On 12 September 2021, SiLA (Siberian Light Aviation) flight 51, from Irkutsk to Kazachinskoye and operated by Let 410 RA-67042 (msn 2916), was destroyed when it impacted trees at the cliff of an island in the middle of the Kirenga River. The crash site was about 4,000 metres short of the runway of its destination.

There were two pilots and fourteen passengers onboard, of which the First Officer and three passengers were killed, four passengers were able to free themselves and eight passengers were freed from the wreckage by emergency services.

SiLA reported the aircraft was on its second approach in heavy fog when it disappeared from radar.
