Jet2 announces new Airbus-order

On 18 October 2022, Jet2 announced that it has placed an additional order for new aircraft with Airbus in the form of 35 A320neos. It also secured options on another 36 A320neo-family aircraft. Delivery of the first A320neo is set to begin in 2028 and will continue until 2031.

Jet2 has become quite a significant Airbus-customer, having placed firm orders for 98 A320neo-family aircraft and 48 options. Next to the 35 A320neos, the airline has 63 A321neos on order. The first batch of A321neos is expected to arrive next year and will, initially, be used to replace the airline's final eight Boeing B757-200s.

The airline's fleet currently consists, apart from the mentioned B757s, of eight A321-200s, two A330-200s (wet-leased from AirTanker), seven B737-300s, and 77 B737-800s.
