Jet Airways reboot coming closer

The reboot of defunct Jet Airways is coming closer as the airline has finished it's proving flights on 17 May 2022. These flights are the final step needed to secure an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and Operating License (OL). The airline, which is planning to relaunch as a no-frills airline but with a premium business class, aims to start flying in October 2022. The route proving flights have been carried out by B737-800 VT-SXE (34802) from Delhi to various domestic destinations.

Currently, the B737-800 used is the only aircraft in Jet Airways' fleet, although the defunct airline still has two B737-800s, one B737-900 and five B777-300ERs registered to it. For its future fleet needs, the airline is now in discussions with lessors and Airbus and Boeing.

The plan for the rebooted Jet Airways is to launch first with domestic flights and grow organically into (regional) international flights.
