Hainan Airlines welcomes 1st A330neo
On 31 October 2025, Hainan Airlines took delivery of its first Airbus A330neo. The aircraft, A330-900 B-32MU (2096), was ferried on that date from Toulouse-Blagnac to Haikou where it received a warm welcome.
It's currently unclear how many A330-900s will join the fleet. At least three more new airframes have been identified for the airline.
Last year, it was said the airline was looking to order 20 A330-900s but no official order was announced. Airbus does, however, holds a total of 22 orders for undisclosed customer(s) for the type.
Hainan Airlines has been a user of the previous generation of the A330 as well. Apart from its new A330neo, the airline's total fleet is currently made-up of eight A320neos, two A321neos, five A330-200s, 22 A330-300s, 125 Boeing B737-800s, 22 B737-8s, nine B787-8s, and 28 B787-9s.
