Greater Bay Airlines mulling new aircraft order

Bloomberg is reporting that Hong Kong start-up Greater Bay Airlines is considering placing an order for up to 30 new aircraft. Under consideration are the Boeing B737-10 and the Airbus A321neo.

The news is interesting as the airline hasn't obtained its Air Transport License (ATL) yet, which means it can't operate commercially. GBA does have its Air Operators Certificate, which it was issued with in October last year.

Greater Bay Airlines has applied to fly to 104 routes, previously served by Cathay Dragon. It currently has a single B737-800 in the fleet. The aircraft, B-KJA (42277) was delivered in September last year. The airline has plans for two more B737-800s to join soon and aims to have ten aircraft in operation by the end of this year.
