Kenya Ce208BKenyan Grand Caravan mishap

In the morning of 20 March this Aeronav Air Services Cessna Grand Caravan (5Y-JKN, msn 208B-0688) crashed under unknown circumstances on the slope of a mountain near Marsabit, to pick up passengers for a peace meeting in the Ileret area.

The Cessna had been chartered by the Marsabit County Government.

It had left Nairobi-Wilson earlier in the day. Sadly both pilots were killed.

The Grand Caravan spent all of its operational life (since October 1998) in Africa, starting in South Africa as ZS-OIH before moving to Kenya as 5Y-TAV and 5Y-JKN.
