South African low-cost carrier FlySafair is set to bring the Boeing B737MAX into its fleet by signing a new lease-agreement with AerCap. The deal, which was announced during the 2025 Dubai Air Show, is for two B737-800s and three B737-8s. The two -800s are to be delivered in 2026, while the new MAXs will join the fleet in 2028.
FlySafair was established in 2013 and launched in 2014. It's part of ASL Aviation Holdings and has its homebase at Johannesburg-O.R. Tambo International Airport. It currently operates a fleet of four B737-400s and 35 B737-800s.
