Finnair to renew fleet with E195-E2s and A320/A321s
On 23 March 2026, Finnair announced its narrowbody fleet-renewal plans. The plan is to acquire up to twelve Airbus A320-200s/A321-200s to replace older Airbuses. The exact number and delivery of these aircraft depends on availability and operational needs.
More interestingly is the order the airline has placed with Embraer for the E195-E2. In total, Finnair has placed a firm order for eighteen aircraft, with options for sixteen and purchase rights for twelve additional aircraft. The first three E195-E2s are planned to be delivered in 2027, the next six in 2028 and another six in 2029.
Finnair currently has a fleet that is made-up of twelve ATR72-500s (operated by Nordic Regional Airlines), five A319s, ten A320s, fourteen A321s, eight A330-300s, eighteen A350-900s, and twelve ERJ190s (operated by Nordic Regional Airlines).
