EgyptAir takes delivery of first MAXs
The first two days of May were good days for EgyptAir as the airline was able to welcome its first two Boeing B737-8s. The duo is the first of eighteen B737-8s the airline is leasing from SMBC Aviation Capital.
On 1 May 2026, SU-GGM (68135) was delivered to Cairo via Reykjavik. A day later, SU-GGN (68136) made the same journey.
The MAXs are joining a fleet that is currently consisting of eight Airbus A320neos, seven A321neos, five A330-200s, four A330-300s, three A350-900s, 30 B737-800s, five B777-300ERs, and eight B787-9s.
