E195 AustrianAirlines 640Austrian Airlines to retire ERJ195-fleet

Austrian Airlines has started the retirement of its Embraer ERJ195-fleet. The first one that has left the fleet is OE-LWM (19000542), which was transferred to sister-carrier Air Dolomiti and registered as I-ENJA.

In total, Air Dolomiti will take on thirteen of the seventeen ERJ195s of Austrian Airlines. They will be used to grow the fleet to 30 aircraft by 2028 but also replace nine smaller ERJ190s.

To replace the capacity, Austrian Airlines will bring on six additional Airbus A320neos, of which the first is expected to be delivered in summer 2026. The airline will streamline its fleet with the A320-family for short- and medium flights, and the Boeing B787-9 for longhaul flights.

Today, Austrian Airlines is operating 29 A320s, five A320neos, two B787-9s, three B767-300ERs, and six B777-200ERs.
