A339 AirAlgerie 640Air Algérie welcomes 1st A330-900

On 13 November 2025, Air Algérie took delivery of its first Airbus A330-900. The aircraft, 7T-VJD (2104), was welcomed at Algiers with a special ceremony. This is, by the way, not the first aircraft wearing this registration. It was previously used by an A310-203 (293), which was part of the fleet between 1984 and 2004.

The new aircraft is the first of eight A330-900s the airline has on order. Originally, Air Algérie placed an order for five A330-900s and two A350-1000s in June 2023 as part of its fleet renewal programme. This was later changed by converting the two A350s into three A330s. The airline also holds open orders with Boeing for eight B737-9s.

Today, Air Algérie's fleet is made-up of fifteen ATR72-500s, eight A330-200s, five B737-600s, two B737-700s, and 25 B737-800s.
