Named after the first Peruvian to cross the Andes in an airplane, Cuzco airport is Peru's second busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers. A major tourist destination in Latin America, the airport of Cuzco receives both international and domestic flights.
Beware, plane spotting is neither understood nor appreciated in Peru.
The airport layout is fairly simple, a single runway is served by a terminal to its south side. A taxiway connects the apron with the western threshold. Like most airfields in Peru, Cuzco is fenced off by a wall.
Chances are you will arrive in Cuzco by aircraft. If not, the airport is situated in the eastern suburbs of this sprawling city and is easy to find by car or taxi.
