History
AirX Limited is registered in Alderney and started trading in Alderney as Le Cocq's Airlink operating one Islander between Alderney and Bournemouth on behalf of Le Cocq's Stores, an Alderney supermarket.
The company soon started inter-island operations between Alderney, Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands together with Shoreham in the UK and Saint Brieuc in France, changing the trading name to Rockhopper and adding a second Islander and three Trislanders to the fleet. In early 2006 the operational base moved from Alderney to Jersey and, when the first Jetstream 32 entered service in April 2006, the company rebranded again, this time as Blue Islands.
Current Routes operated are:
- Jersey - Guernsey, Alderney, Saint Brieuc, Bournemouth and the Isle of Man
- Guernsey - Jersey, Alderney and Saint Brieuc
- Alderney - Jersey, Guernsey, Shoreham and Bournemouth
Southbound flights from the Isle of Man to Jersey operate via Guernsey as do some Bournemouth-Jersey flights.
A charter series on behalf of the company's owners - The Healthspan Group of Guernsey - started on July 2006 with the Jetstreams, operating from Guernsey to Biggin Hill and Bournemouth carrying clients of Healthspan on inclusive tours to hotels owned by the group in Guernsey and Alderney. More charter destinations in the UK are to be added.
