History
Formed as a consortium on 29 March 1969 for the production of the MRCA Tornado fighter. Initially Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom were the participants, but during July 1969 the Netherlands pulled out again.
Following a redistribution in September 1969 its 120,000 DM start capital was distributed between the founding companies MBB (50%), BAC (33%) and Fiat (17%). This was later adjusted to a 42.5%, 42.5% and 15% respectively shareholder-ship.
