USAFE youngest wing is the 31st FW from Aviano AB, Italy. While only being stationed at Aviano since 1994, the wing, formerly based at Homestead, Florida, has been heaviliy involved in conflicts over former Yugoslavia, Libya while it also rotates in 'normal' operations and deploys regularly to Afghanistan.

Night Owls
95th RS is a temporary unit and borrows aircraft, as needed, from 55th Wing.
The 7th SOS will replace their MC-130H for CV-22Bs. The first Ospreys will arrive in July 2013.
I march 2013 the first MC-130P was retired. In total all of the squadron’s five MC-130P aircraft are slated for retirement over the next few years. In their place, the 67th will receive 12 MC-130J models by 2022.

On take-off while departing RAF Fairford after RIAT11 is MC-130P 66-0220. It is expected that the MC-130Ps will retire in 2013, being replaced by the MC-130J
