Sao Tomé and Principe Armed Forces (Forças Armadas de São Tomé e Príncipe)
Brief history Sao Tomé and Principe is an island off the West African coast. Becoming independent from founder Portugal on 12 July 1975, Portuguese is obviously the language and influences are abundant.
Being a small country, the defence forces, or Forças Armadas de São Tomé e Príncipe, are basically a coast guard with no aerial assets (yet).
