| The UH-1H-IIs, UH-1Ns and one company of UH-60L are operated on behalf of the US Department of State Air Wing and form the Plan Colombia Helicopter Program aimed at training Colombian army aviation personnel. Army helicopters use numerous forward operating locations in the country, like Saravena etc. |
 |
Plan Colombia saw the expansion of
the Colombian Army Aviation Brigade from the late nineties. One of
the more exotic additions not included in this plan is this Kazan-built
Mil Mi-17MD, the latest version of this highly versatile helicopter.

The first block of aircraft are PNC-owned. Apart from the main bases many non-permanent detachments are maintained throughout the country.
The second block of aircraft are operated on behalf of the US Department of State and its Aerial Eradication Program (AEP) and are operating from many airfields throughout the country, although they are nominally based at Bogota. Forward Operating Locations include Larandia, Neiva, San Jose del Guaviare, and Tumaco.
The C-27As and Ce208(B)s are no part of the AEP but are used for general support duties.
